Michael and Nathaniel Pena appear in 2010 Best Independent Mini Film in Tampa

I am extremely happy to say that my two very talented and handsome boys are part of a film that appeared today at the 2010 Independents’ Film Festival in Tampa, Florida. The film Winslow Takes the Cake, has been named the Best Independent Mini Film.

The brothers had a blast working with director Moe Yousuf. Michael has a speaking role and Nathaniel is one of the kids that are having troubles with their "boxes".

This is not the first time the boys work together in a film, and it looks like there are many more opportunities of that happening again as they appeared as best friends in the upcoming SAG film “Nesting”.

10 AND 12 YEAR OLD CHILD ACTORS ACCEPTED INTO LOCAL COLLEGE

Straight A Homeschoolers Begin Studying at LA Valley College January 3, 2011.

November 2, 2010 - Burbank, CA - Child actors and brothers Nathaniel Alexander and Michael Manuel Peña are celebrating their acceptance into Los Angeles Valley College today at the tender young ages of 10 and 12, respectively. The brothers, who are straight-’A’ students, have been schooled at home by their mother Diana for most of their academic careers.

“I knew there was something special about Michael when he read and passed tests on 1,000 books as a six-year-old first grader in Seattle’s Montlake Elementary School.” This record still stands at the school today, according to Diana.

Michael’s younger brother, Nathaniel, is very competitive and has always tried to catch up to his older brother’s achievements, says their mother. Both are currently in 11th grade and will be finishing high school while taking a college class starting next January under a dual-enrollment program.

In addition to being exceptional students, the boys and their younger sister, Keira, are child actors and models. They began their careers in the Orlando, Florida market with jobs for Disney, Papa John’s Pizza, Pinch-a Penny Pool Supplies and Scholastic, among others . The Peña family moved to Los Angeles less than a year ago and quickly signed with Hollywood talent agency Hervey-Grimes. Nathaniel booked a co-starring role on the CBS dramatic series Criminal Minds within two months, and both boys make an appearance in the upcoming film “Nesting.”

Their father, freelance writer and artist Willie Peña, is very proud. “The kids have always been determined to make it both academically and in show business, and they are a great example of sticking to your guns despite all the naysayers who said ‘give it up.’”

Megamind 3-D Screening

Saturday Nov 23 was a fantastic day as we got to in this gorgeous morning to enjoy a FREE pre-screening of Megamind 3-D. Saturday mornings are definitely the way to go if you want to enjoy a nice family time without having to way too long to be seated, specially if the venue is at the Mann's Chinese Theater in Hollywood.

This movie is great for kids and adults alike. The animation is incredible and done in a realistic way. You can see that it was really made for 3-D. If you want to get the full impact of it there is no other way to go. On top of that the megastars totally delivered and make you believe in each character.

The story is good and with a good message. I really recommended it!!!
